Certitudo Capital rents former Ikea Head Office in Amstel III to the Nederlandse Academie voor Beeldcreatie

Certitudo Capital rents former Ikea Head Office in Amstel III to the Nederlandse Academie voor Beeldcreatie.

The Nederlandse Academie voor Beeldcreatie has entered into a long-term lease agreement with Certitudo Capital for the office building at Paasheuvelweg 5 in Amsterdam-Zuidoost. The new academie building will be located in the former IKEA head office - which moved to IKEA in Spaarnwoude in 2019 - which spans approximately 2,800m2. In addition to the faculty of the Nederlandse Academie voor Beeldcreatie, the Dutch Filmers Academy (also known as the Amsterdam Filmschool) will also occupy Paasheuvelweg 5. As such, the site will house a full spectrum of visual arts education.

The move is a strategic one, which will see the Nederlandse Academie voor Beeldcreatie's merge its current site in central Amsterdam with a site in Hilversum, relocating to this up-and-coming district of Amsterdam. Thanks to GVB-metro- and Ns-train station Amsterdam Holendrecht being just a five-minute walk away, the Nederlandse Academie voor Beeldcreatie will be easily accessible by public transport.

With the development of the digital age and the changing role of photography and film within the arena of image communication, the need arose for a flexible, creative and realistic learning environment: the new location meets this need.

The Paasheuvelweggebied is in the midst of being developed as part of Amstel III: the partially outdated, mono-functional business park is being transformed into a multi-functional residential and work area. Approximately 5,000 new homes and new office buildings will be built, and the AMC hospital extended. Various medical, pharmaceutical and healthtech-companies will also move in. This development will create a lively, new and multi-functional urban district in Amsterdam. Certitudo Capital has various sites within Amstel III and is closely involved in the urban development and design of Amstel III, alongside Amsterdam local authority and other private owners. Amstel III is home to a number of renowned companies, including Mac, Bugaboo, IKEA, Adecco, ING, AMC and KPN.

Property consultant, Colliers International and Savills jointly advised Certitudo Capital. DRS Makelaars advised the Nederlandse Academie voor Beeldcreatie on this lease.
