At the Inputplein in Amersfoort, Certitudo Capital is developing 37,500 sqm of homes and a 1,300 sqm commercial plinth. The development is called ‘The Key’ and is located on the station square in the Hoefkwartier station area in Amersfoort. The new-construction programme is a mix of social rental, mid-rental and private sector.
The former business park is being transformed into a city district with housing and educational facilities. Most of the neighbourhood is being demolished to make way for new construction, as are the developments of Certitudo Capital. MVSA is involved in the project as architect and the new building development consists of four different buildings.
Construction is expected to start in September 2022, with completion scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.
The Key consists of five building blocks with a total of 555 homes, 1,300 sqm of amenities and an underground parking garage with 395 parking spaces. The building blocks are arranged into two square forms, each of which surrounds a semi-public courtyard garden. The apartment complexes are named Highrise, Midrise, Sunrise and Moonrise. The homes are studio flats, two- and three-room flats varying in size from 25 sqm to 85 sqm in the social, mid-rental and private sector segment. All age groups and target groups are therefore welcome at The Key.
Sustainability plays an important role during construction, but also in the use of the new development. The highest standards of sustainability are being pursued – standards such as gas-free, a thermal energy storage system and a modern climate control system. For this reason, The Key carries energy label A++. Special attention has also been paid to creating a green and pleasant living environment for visitors and residents.
Hoefkwartier is the future living and working district in Amersfoort. A modern, green and sustainable city district will be created here. Sustainable, because all homes and buildings are energy-neutral and natural-gas-free. This showpiece of the city is fully equipped to provide easy and comfortable access to all forms of transport. The Key is easily accessible by car and by public transport. The development is located near the A1 and A28 motorways. Amersfoort Schothorst Station is literally right outside the front door and offers direct connections to Amsterdam, Utrecht, Groningen, Eindhoven and Germany, among other places. The historic city centre of Amersfoort can be reached within ten minutes by bicycle.
